Restauration Tomb of Unknown
From Monday 25 September, visitors may admire a new item in restoration in Sala 3. The project will be restoring the large sarcophagus of the Tomb of the Unkown, found intact in Gebelein, during the 1911 expedition. Virginio Rosa described so precisely the original position of the finds, that it was possible to reconstruct the site within the Museum. None of the objects found gave any indication of a name of the individual in the tomb, it is for this reason it is often called “of the Unknown”.
