Nearly 5 years of work, a budget of 50 million euro and the museum always open, despite hosting one of the biggest yards in Europe.
To cope with its history, now bicentennial, the Egyptian Museum has faced a massive project of re-functioning, expansion and renovation and now reopens completely after five years of work that have led to a restoration unprecedented in the history of the institution. “The winning bet – said Evelina Christillin president of the Egyptian Museum Foundation – was to be able to keep the museumopen in these five years of work: the fact that the museum in 2014 reached a record of visits convinced us it was worth it. ”
