Museum Regulations


Please note that the ticket office closes one hour before the Museum closes.
 
Visitors are asked not touch the artefacts.
 
Please follow the instructions of Security guards in the galleries.
 
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building.
 
Food and drinks are prohibited because crumbs and spills attract insects, which can seriously damage organic artefacts.
 
No animals, with the exception of guide dogs, are allowed in the Museum.
 
Please switch off mobile phone ring tones so as not to disturb other visitors.                
 
Because of the building configuration, please keep your ticket, to present on request, throughout your visit.
 
Group Visits
 
Groups and schools must make advance reservations by telephone 0114406903 or by fax 0115069814.
 
The group maximum is 30 persons.
 
Tourist guides and teachers must be accredited in the ticket and wear a badge. Accreditation is not transferable.
 
Soliciting of any kind (offering guided tours, sale of goods, etc) is not permitted within the Museum.
 
Teachers are responsible for the behaviour of their groups at all times. They must keep the group together and assure responsible behaviour.
 
Joining an established guided visit is not permitted.
 
Photography

Flash photography is not permitted, as much material on view is light sensitive. Furthermore flash photography is annoying to other visitors.

For professional photos and videos it is necessary to seek official permission in advance from the Director’s Office.

The Egyptian Museum of Turin has all rights of reproduction of images and films relating to the Museo Egizio and its collections. Any reproduction of photographs/images regarding the collections of the Egyptian Museum of Turin is strictly forbidden without specific written permission from the Museum.
